POLICY STATEMENT
Lasher Tools recognizes that, because of political and cultural legacies, South African society is now characterized by:-
- High levels of inequality based on race;
- The exclusion from the mainstream economy of black people, particularly black women and
- Poorly skilled and under-educated black communities;
- High levels of unemployment make the situation worse
We believe, therefore, that the right thing to do is to adopt the practice of BBBEE.
Lasher Tools is committed to the socio-economic transformation of the country, which is underpinned by the standards, values and principles contained in our Standards of Business Conduct, Business Principles and Guiding Principles.
We believe that South Africa can achieve an adaptable, sustainable and growing economy if it harnesses the strengths of all its citizens and communities and utilizes the diversity as a catalyst to solve social challenges and enhance economic performance.
Our approach to Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment (BBBEE) includes initiatives in respect of employment equity, skills development, preferential procurement, enterprise development and corporate social investment. To this end, Lasher Tools has invested vast sums of money by contributing to and investing in disadvantage individuals, organizations and communities on a sustainable basis.
The goal of our BBBEE charter is to add impetus to the empowerment initiatives already taken by the public and private sectors and to support our company vision and culture to ensure that they proudly reflect the promise of a truly non-racial South Africa.
